These paintings look at Native American bicycle messengers and wild birds and other animals in San Francisco. The portraits are on salvaged traffic signs and the birds are painted on backgrounds of the security stickers that bike messengers and other contract workers are forced to wear to enter various office buildings downtown, after 9-11. The messengers and birds represent finding freedom where one can, juxtaposed against images of paranoia and so-called "security." Even though we may face arbitrary laws, natural laws hold supreme.
