Dead Air #6, Dec. 1997, 32pp.
Official `zine of the Windy City BMA. Reports from Barcelona, a column talking seriously about messenger drug abuse - brave! loads of pics, poems, comics, news, even a crossword puzzle (the pinnacle of `zine materials). Good, solid effort, handwritten, very personal, but of course, Dead Air would be more interesting to those involved in the Chicago scene. Jack @ 1800 S. Jefferson St., Chicago IL 60616.

33 issues?! Holy frijoles!! I can't wait to meet these guys so I can shake their hands! damn! Anyway, mess zine from Toronto. Cyclists killed by cars this summer in TO have sparked a lot of controversy. Joe Hendry explains the government's genius solution in his article, "Courier Licensing," but Derek Chadbourne points out in his column that "the ones who seem to die are the ones that obey the rules of the road put there by men who have never been on a bike in their adult life." Toronto's messengers' reaction to NYC, other rants w/ a very violent flare. I liked the photo of Taw's Gun and Cycle Sporting Goods store: "One stop shopping for cyclists." 291 Ossington St., #6 M6J 3A1, Ontario, or e-mail: hwn@lglobal.com.
